A trade fair is one of the most effective ways to meet hundreds of prospects, partners and future employees in a few days. But it has to be well prepared. Here are 10 tips drawn from five editions of ACF.
Before the fair
- Set a measurable goal: number of contacts, meetings, sales or applications.
- Choose the right size: a 3 to 9 m² stand is often enough for a startup, 12 to 36 m² for demonstrations or heavy traffic.
- Book early: the best locations go first.
- Announce your presence on your networks, to your customers and in your email signature, with your stand number.
- Prepare simple materials: a clear message, a roll-up readable from afar, business cards and a QR code to your website or WhatsApp.
During the fair
- Go to visitors: an open question beats waiting behind a table.
- Bring your stand to life: a demo, game, free trial or mini-talk draws people in.
- Record every contact with a form or app, noting their need.
- Use the talks and B2B meetings to meet decision-makers and partners.
After the fair
- Follow up within 48 hours: that is when contacts remember you best.
